Living in a Post-COVID world can be a challenge. Parents have suffered during this pandemic, especially mothers. They have disproportionately lost their jobs and financial security. If you are working from home, you may find that the burdens of family life fall largely on them. You may feel that you are not doing enough for your children. Coaching around this topic can improve your work and home life.
As you negotiate a post-pandemic world, it will impact your work and your life. Your children’s school will most likely be in person. You may need to report to work in-person or be required to do hybrid work (from home/in the office). All of this will create new opportunities, but can generate uncertainty and anxiety.
Here are some tips to help negotiate this new reality:
- Increase a sense of control by developing consistent daily routines.
- If you work from home, wrap up your work day around the same time every day.
- Remind yourself that everyone is in an unusual situation with limited resources.
- Identify the best habits borne out of the pandemic, i.e. a slower pace of life.
- Strengthen your connections — stronger social connections help us cope with anxiety and build resilience.
- Ask yourself what do I need right now? All else can wait.
